The other day, I was sitting at my desk after dinner paying bills and researching TexasElectricityProviders, when Harper comes in and thoughtfully says, “Mom, were TVs in black and white when you were a kid?” Before I could answer, she adds, “Did they even have TVs back then?” Great. My kid thinks I’m ancient. I respond, “Yes, Harp, they DID have TVs and no, they were in color (thank you very much). When do you think I was born?” She responds, “Like, 1930 or something..?” Ha! She says, “So if I want to know about black and white, I should ask Nana, right? Or did they have TV’s when she was little? Should I ask Mimi?” I chuckle, trying to piece together her logic for this whole thing. I say, “Yes, you should ask Nana. When she was a little girl, they didn’t have TVs, but she remembers getting one for the first time before she got married.” I add, just for fun, “When do you think Nana was born?” She responds, “Um, 1995?”. I’m thinking her logic of “1930” stems from the fact that I’m in my 30’s. But, for Nana’s sake, I’m hoping not…
